Her first gospel song was performed at the age of teen, following her early years in the church. Even though it wasn't permitted by her parents, Perry heard all kinds of music provided to her by her friends, as she had an affinity for music right in the beginning. Perry was a flamboyant and passionate person who aimed to fulfill her dream to be a musician. Prior to her first break, she faced many challenges and did not get success immediately. The singer had to put several of her song on hold prior to being signed by 'Capitol Records. This was when her path as a musician began. The next album, 'Teenage dreams was a hit with many music lovers and became one of the best-selling albums ever. Katy Perry became a well-known performer after the release of this album. It broke numerous records. In addition to writing and recording songs, Perry is also known for her charitable work. Perry is an activist and promotes the rights of gays.
