Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised by an ethnically diverse family. Her father is Nigerian and Swiss, while her mother is English. She was born and lived in a housing estate run by the council in the south of London. At the age fourteen, she was enrolled at The Brit School. She studied acting in The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. While at school she appeared in numerous stage plays, such as King Henry V's princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe's acting career started in the series Storm Damage. The actress has been an actor for Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's breakout came with 2007's Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream. It was co-starring Colin Farrell (who played the part of Cassandra) and Ewan McGrath. Following that she was cast as Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally, she starred in Trexx as Ollie and six episodes in Flipside. She played Bambi as Bambi in The ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe appeared in the comedic How to Lose Friends and Alienate people (2008). A couple of her credits on stage include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe was officially introduced to her US debut on The Beautiful Life in 2009. The series aired only two episodes at The CW, and was later removed from the air. In February of 2011, she was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. Madekwe starred as a regular character on the drama series on ABC Revenge during two seasons. The show was announced in May 2013 that she'd leave the series after making an appearance in the initial episode of season three. She was Tituba on the television series Salem in 2014 until 2016. Madekwe, her long-time companion, Iddo, married Madekwe in June 2012. They collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Goldberg also appeared with her on Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with an extended family. She was raised by her parents Roy and Patty along with her older brothers, Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's brothers, who were who were all extremely physically active, were all playing hockey during the winter months and played baseball in the summers, meaning they grew up mostly in baseball and arenas. Ashley couldn't walk, however she could dance. This led to the fact that at the age of 2 She discovered Baby Ballet. It was then that she discovered Ashley's love for dancing. Ashley continued to compete through high school graduation, at the top levels of competitions, such as ballet, tap, Jazz and Pointe. She also competed in Acrobatics, Acrobatics Musical Theatre, Lyrical Hip Hop, and much more. She was crowned the top soloist at each of the major dance competitions including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance just to mention a few.
